Mental Health and Addictions Services. You can refer yourself and start the process. (902.543.5400) The provincial health line is staffed 24/7 by a mental health professional who will assess whether you need to access emergency care or outpatient services. (1.888.429.8167) You are also welcome to visit outpatients/emergency room or call 911 if you feel you are an immediate danger to yourself or others. You will then be assessed in the hospital.
Second Story Women’s Centre. 902.543.1315. Offers friendly listening and support as well as crisis counselling for women during their business hours. Outreach is also provided to the Bridgewater area.

Laing House. Offers outreach in the Bridgewater area for youth experiencing mental illness.

Narcotics Anonymous, Central Nova Region. Meets locally in Bridgewater to support those who want to or have stopped using drugs.

Kids Help Phone. Small concerns or big ones, a professional counsellor is on the other end 24/7 365 days a year. You can also talk to someone online, although this may be more limited than the telephone service. Free, anonymous, and confidential. For everyone under 20 years old. (1.800.668.6868). They also have an app called Always There.
Healthy Minds Cooperative. Provides peer-based services to those experiencing mental illness and their families, as well as help navigating the mental health system.

Marguerite Centre. 902.876.0006. Residential facility for women recovering from addictions and abuse. Offers services ranging from legal aid assistance to relaxation techniques like yoga. Located in Halifax Regional Municipality.
